• waxy lime green flowers above the spear-like dark green leafy fingers of a hellebore
  
• huge flat elephant-ear leaves of bergenia


• misty-pale prickly oleander bush


• tremulous curling leaves and tortured stems of a corylus contorta


• bank of glistening variegated ivy
